D’Youville Launches 18-month Accelerated BSN Program

Buffalo, New York – November 4, 2020 – The Patricia H. Garman School of Nursing at D’Youville will offer a new, 18-month, accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree starting in Summer 2021. Applications to the program are now being accepted.

The six-semester program is available for students who already possess a bachelor’s degree. “The accelerated BSN is a program designed for students to build on their previous educational success and begin a nursing career in the most expedient way possible,” says Michelle R. Bork, DNP, RN, chair of undergraduate nursing at D’Youville.

“Our accelerated BSN was developed at the request of our healthcare partners and reflects our goal to build leaders dedicated to serving our communities,” Bork says. It is the newest program at the nursing school, which also offers a four-year BSN and RN to BSN; master’s degrees in Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Management and Quality Leadership, Nursing Education with a Clinical Focus, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; and doctorate degrees in Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; as well as advanced certificate and online degree programs. The school is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The accelerated BSN program combines clinical, lab, and work outside the classroom to achieve learning outcomes. Students will be among the first to learn in D’Youville’s new Health Professions Hub, a 58,751 square foot, state-of-the-art education, training, and community health at the corner of Connecticut and West Avenues, which is set to open in early 2021.

The application deadline is December 1.
