D’YOUVILLE REACCREDITED BY MIDDLE STATES COMMISSION
6/30/2005 BUFFALO – The Middle States Commission on Higher Education has reaffirmed the accreditation of D’Youville College for a ten-year period.
The reaccreditation was issued following an intensive self study began in 2003 by a D’Youville committee and a visit by an accreditation team made up of individuals from peer colleges and universities.
“While the conclusion is reaccreditation, the ultimate purpose of the self-study is to provide colleges and universities with the information and insight needed for ongoing improvement,” said Dr. Patricia L. Abbott, associate professor of psychology at D’Youville, who chaired the study.
D’Youville was first accredited by the Commission in 1928 and has met the accreditation standards since then.
The Middle States Commission is a voluntary, non-governmental, peer-based membership association. It insures educational excellence and improvement at colleges through peer evaluation and accreditation.
It accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in the Middle States region.
D’Youville College was chartered by New York State in 1908.
