D’Youville Celebrates Veterans Day with Veteran Salute Event

To celebrate Veteran’s Day, the entire campus community is invited to the Veteran Salute event on Thursday, November 8 at 9:30 AM. The event will take place in the Kavinoky Theatre and will include a color guard presentation and a special thank you to our veterans.

Following the event, brunch and refreshments will be served in the newly-remodeled Dr. William J. Mariani Veterans Center on the second floor of the Koessler Administration Building (KAB).

“Here at D’Youville we salute our veterans," said Chief Master Sergeant Robert Ward (Ret.), director of Veterans Services. "This event is just a small thank you that we can provide to those currently serving, who've served in the past, and who are on our campus today. We honor you today and every day.”

The Student Veterans Center was created to provide a space on campus for our student veterans to socialize, study, and connect with one another. Renamed to the Dr. William J. Mariani Veterans Center in September 2018, its full-time staff provides support and guidance on academic advisement, degree planning around any known deployments, tutoring and mentoring services by fellow student veteran peers, and connections to the Veterans One Stop Center of Western New York.
