Bowen Named VP for Student Services and Enrollment Management
Buffalo, New York – May 30, 2017 – D’Youville College President Dr. Lorrie A. Clemo has named Randyll P. Bowen vice president for student services and enrollment management effective July 1. He will replace Robert P. (Butch) Murphy who is retiring in June after more than 40 years at the College.
Bowen joined the College in October 2016 as associate vice president for enrollment management and marketing responsible for the overall management of undergraduate and graduate recruitment and marketing.
He will now add student services to his duties directing the administration of student affairs at D’Youville. Under the direction of the president, Bowen will be responsible for the formulating and implementation of non-academic policies. Reporting to him will be the athletic department, career services, health center, connections office, personal counseling, residential life, the college center, and multicultural affairs.
Marketing will be handled by the newly created communication and marketing office.
In making the announcement Dr. Clemo said: “Randy brings a wealth of experience to this role. He possesses the knowledge, energy, drive and compassion for students that will help him succeed in this position, and I am tremendously excited that he will be an integral part of our leadership team. D’Youville is building on the momentum of a third consecutive year of enrollment growth and we are confident Randy will bring about further enrollment increases and plans for improved student engagement in the years to come.”
Prior to joining D’Youville, Bowen was the associate vice president for enrollment management at Monroe Community College in Rochester for two years and held the same position at Villa Maria College in Buffalo from 2012-2013. He served at Niagara County Community College as vice president for workforce and community development, interim director of the NCCC Foundation and interim VP for information technology services and chief information officer.
He was also associate vice president of enrollment management and marketing at Erie Community College for five years.
Bowen graduated from the State University College at Brockport and received a master’s degree from the State University College at Buffalo.
D’Youville, a private college chartered in 1908 and located on Buffalo’s historic West Side, is a leader in healthcare education and a top college for veterans and military dependents with more than 700 qualified military-related individuals enrolled, the most of any institution in Western New York.
There will be a special farewell celebration to commemorate Mr. Murphy’s 41 years of service to D’Youville at a time and place to be announced.
