D’Youville Student and Decorated Veteran to Receive Service Dog

Buffalo, New York – October 20, 2016 – Rebuilding Warriors will present a service K9 dog named Bolt to U.S. Army Veteran Miranda Hulse on Friday, October 21 at 10:00 AM at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park.

The presentation will be at the USS Little Rock in the Admiral’s Quarters.

Miranda was born and reared in Dover, New Hampshire and graduated from Norwich University cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

She was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army as a transportation officer.

Lt. Hulse was stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y. and deployed to Iraq in 2008 and 2009 then was assigned to Afghanistan.

She successfully completed the captain career course in 2012 and was stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Captain Hulse was again deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 for a third deployment.

Miranda was awarded the combat action badge and the bronze star, twice, and other military awards.

Currently she is a student at D’Youville College majoring in psychology.

Rebuilding Warriors is a non-profit organization providing highly trained and socialized service/companion dogs to honorably discharged veterans diagnosed as amputees as well as those with post traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.
