D'Youville Biology Professor Serves on Chiropractic Licensure Test Committee
Buffalo, New York – April 12, 2016 – Kimberly Bernosky-Smith, assistant professor of biology at D’Youville, participated in the annual Part 1 Test Committee on April 8-9 at the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) headquarters in Greeley, Colorado.
She is a specialist in pathology, one of the six basic science areas included on the NBCE Part 1 examinations. During the meeting, the test committee approved items to be used on future examinations according to the guidelines provided by NBCE test plans.
To ensure the fairness of the examinations, committees are composed of faculty members from various chiropractic colleges, who are selected based on their expert knowledge in specific subject areas.
They are offered at chiropractic colleges across the U.S and in several foreign countries.
The examinations are accepted for chiropractic licensure in all 50 states and the
District of Columbia.
Dr. Bernosky-Smith is a graduate of the State University at Buffalo where she received her bachelor and master’s degrees in psychology and arts. She earned her doctor of philosophy in physiology and pharmacology from Wake Forest University. She joined D’Youville in 2011.
