Will Be Held at Iroquois High School in Elma
Buffalo, New York – April 11, 2016 – The 5th annual Laps for Limbs run/walk will be held Sunday, April 17 at the Iroquois High School track in Elma starting at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 1:00 p.m.
The special event, sponsored by D’Youville College and organized by the Student Veterans Association with assistance of the Student Association, is designed to raise awareness and funds for amputees. Participants sign up for a one-hour time slot and run or walk as may laps as they can during that hour. Each participant finds sponsors, either per lap or for a flat donation and collects the money following the event.
The 2016 Laps for Limbs will again benefit children and veterans with amputations in Western New York. Half of the funds will provide children with amputations the opportunity to attend Camp No Limits.
The veteran portion of the proceeds will be donated to the local Disabled American Veterans organization.
Lap for Limbs was founded by Kristen Smith, a D’Youville graduate.
