Amman) released on November 1, is set in the late 1980s and tells the story of Leda, a ten year old tomboy in Italy who loves books. Life is good until shady Nico moves to her neighborhood from Sicily and becomes the bully in her life.
Leda is determined not to let him ruin her life and Leda is “dragged on a journey of self-discovery that will transform both kids in the face of first crushes, weird adults and family drama.”

Bistulfi was reared in Italy and moved to the U.S. while in her 20s to seek her doctorate in molecular biology. An admitted bookworm, she wrote throughout her childhood and won two short story competitions in Italy in her teens. Her many travels provide inspiration for her fiction.
The book is part of The Italian Saga, an irreverent series of humorous and insightful young adult novels. Bistulfi graduated magna cum laude from the University of Milan with a degree in Medical Biotechnology and was a graduate student at Roswell Park Cancer Institute as a visiting scientist from Milan. She earned her doctorate from the University of Milan in conjunction with Roswell Park.
She joined the D’Youville faculty in 2011.
