Colleges and universities are nominated for distinction by high school counselors and then are evaluated using qualitative and quantitative research.
Buffalo, New York – September 14, 2015 – The ongoing commitment to student engagement, great teaching and vibrant community at D'Youville College have earned the school recognition among the nation’s Colleges of Distinction for the 2015-2016 academic year.
“D'Youville excels at what matters: providing a teaching-centered undergraduate education that combines innovative learning programs with experiential educational opportunities," said Wes Creel, founder of Colleges of Distinction.
Colleges and universities are nominated for distinction by high school counselors and then are evaluated using qualitative and quantitative research. The website guide focuses on schools that are nationally recognized and highly recommended by professionals in the field of education.
"Schools selected create well-rounded graduates and are among the very best in the country," according to Tyson Schritter, the executive editor of Colleges of Distinction. "While each school is one of a kind, they all share a common theme: they are all a great place to get an education."
In order to qualify, colleges are required to demonstrate excellence in the four distinctions: engaged students, teaching, vibrant communities, and successful outcomes, according to the guide. "The goal of Colleges of Distinction is to provide students, counselors, and parents with information about colleges and universities that excel in these four areas. Featured schools take a holistic approach to admissions, consistently excel in providing undergraduate education, and have a national reputation."
The website includes college profiles, search tools, tips from high school guidance counselors and essays from college students, presidents and other members of campus communities.
