Buffalo, New York – September 9, 2015 – According to a recent World Health Organization (WHO) report, over 800,000 people die by suicide across the world each year.
Since 2003, World Suicide Prevention Day has taken place on September 10 each year. This initiative is co-sponsored by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) and the WHO.
This day serves as a call to action to individuals and organizations to prevent suicide. This year's theme, "Reaching Out and Saving Lives" encourages us all to consider the role that offering support may play in combating suicide.
