DYC's ACE Women's Network Chapter Gives Back to the Community
DYC faculty and staff donated over 150 articles of clothing to Dress for Success Buffalo
Buffalo, New York – September 2, 2015 – The D’Youville College Chapter of American Council of Education (ACE) Women’s Network recently completed a summer service project. Members of the DYC college community donated gently used professional clothing to support Dress for Success Buffalo.
The mission of Dress for Success Buffalo is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
“The generosity of our ACE members was amazing, said Kathleen Border, Institutional Representative of the DYC Chapter and assistant professor of dietetics.
“We donated over 150 articles of clothing including professional attire such as suits, jackets, skirts, blouses, shoes and accessories.” The clothing will be used to help prepare women for job interviews and active participation in the workforce.
The ACE Women's Network is a national system of networks within each state, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia with the goal of advancing and supporting women in higher education.
The DYC Chapter of ACE Women's Network has some fall activities planned including a book discussion group and networking events.
