Dr. Maureen Finney is Selected as Dean of the School of Health Professions
She'll serve as chief academic officer for undergraduate and graduate programs in the school
Buffalo, New York – August 24, 2015 – D’Youville College has named Maureen F. Finney, Ed.D. Dean of the School of Health Professions.
She will be the chief academic officer for undergraduate and graduate programs in the School and will be responsible for direction and long-range planning as well as program development.
D’Youville’s School of Health Professions comprises Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Chiropractic, Dietetics, Health Services Administration, Exercise and Sports Studies and the doctoral program in Health Education.
Dr. Finney had been serving as chair of the college Physician Assistant Department since 2001 and is a full professor at D'Youville. She is also a clinical physician assistant at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine.
Dr. Finney will also serve as a member of the Academic Affairs Dean’s Council, the College Academic Council and will continue to teach.
She was named Physician Assistant Department Faculty Member of the Year in 2001, 2004 and 2011 and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. She recently received the 2015 D’Youville Quality Service Award.
Dr. Finney has published extensively in professional journals and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and the Physician Assistant Education Association.
Dr. Finney is a magna cum laude graduate of Niagara University and earned her master’s degree at the University at Buffalo. Her physician assistant degree, also magna cum laude, and doctorate in Health Policy and Education were earned at D’Youville.
