D'Youville's RN-to-BSN Online Program Ranks Among Best in New York
Affordable Colleges Ranks DYC 16th Best Online College in New York State in 2015
Buffalo, New York – June 2, 2015 – D'Youville College has been ranked 16th among all schools in New York State in Affordable College’s 2015 Best Online Colleges Report, which examines accessible and affordable online programs.
In its methodology, Affordable Colleges notes that its evaluation is based on quality of education and cost.
D'Youville currently offers one online program for licensed Registered Nurses seeking a bachelor's degree. Launched in 2013, the program is fully online and accredited. The RN-to-BSN program requires no travel, and no prior work experience, with clinical training completed near a student's location. Registered nurses who enroll in the two-year program can save money with a 50% waiver on tuition.
"As online classes become more prevalent, it is important to acknowledge the colleges and universities that go above and beyond,” said Dan Schuessler, founder and CEO of Affordable Colleges Online. "Our goal is to highlight these schools and their commitment to higher education."
According to the online RN-BSN program coordinator, Michelle Mollica, MS, RN, assistant professor, more and more healthcare providers are requiring nurses to have at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing. RNs are choosing to obtain their bachelor’s degree not only for job security but also to continue their studies to become an advanced practice nurse.
