International Business Research Institute Honors D'Youville with a 'Silver Award'
The award recognizes the efforts of DYC's Business faculty, Drs. Dion Daly, Bonnie Fox Garrity, Susan Kowalewski and Arup Sen, in education and scholarship.
Buffalo, New York – January 29, 2015 – D’Youville College received the prestigious ‘Silver Award’ from the Global Institute for Business and Finance Research (IBFR) at their national conference on January 7 in Las Vegas.
The Institute promotes the study of business, finance, and related issues and makes accessible information to the global higher education and business communities.
The Silver Award is presented to recognize colleges and universities that have supported the institute, its conferences, and journals continuously for a period of five or more years. D’Youville faculty members, Dr. Dion Daly, Dr. Bonnie Fox Garrity, Dr. Susan J. Kowalewski, and Dr. Arup Sen have published peer reviewed articles in the organization’s journals.
Accepting the Silver Award for D’Youville was Dr. Kowalewski, chair of the Department of Business, who presented a paper, co-authored by Caroline Michalik of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, titled: “The Implication of an Advanced Degree for Nurses in Health Care. The paper received an Outstanding Research Award.
Jason Adsit, dean of the D’Youville College of School of Arts, Sciences, and Education, noted that “D’Youville College business faculty members are committed to excelling in business education and are engaged with the latest developments in their field. This award recognizes these efforts and stands as a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
The Institute was created in 2005 to foster quality business and finance research and sponsors academic conferences annually.
