Werner's book, "The Gorgeous Nothings" (2013, Christine Burgin/New Directions, in association with Granary Books), edited by Marta Werner and Jen Bervin, is the first full-color facsimile edition of Emily Dickinson’s manuscripts. The book presents Dickinson's experimental late work exactly as she wrote it on scraps of envelopes.
Werner is nationally recognized for her work on the writings of Dickinson. She is a board member of the Emily Dickinson Archive (EDA) and the creator of Radical Scatters, a 1999 digital project based on Dickinson’s fragments from after 1875 called “scraps.”
