Business Professor to Present Research at UK Conference
Buffalo, New York – April 29, 2013 – Joseph Jurkowski, Ph.D., CPA, assistant professor of business at D’Youville, will present his abstract, “Challenges for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)” at the prestigious ‘Economics, Finance, MIS, and International Business Research Conference’ to be held in London, England July 11- 14.
“This paper is the result of a study of CPA firms and their approach to acceptance of the world-wide IFRS Accounting system,” Dr. Jurkowski said.
It was written with co-authors Dr. Arup Sen, vice president for academic affairs at D’Youville and Dr. Sylwia Starnawska, an assistant professor of business at the college.
The abstract will be published in the Journal of American Academy of Business, Cambridge following the conference, according to Dr. Jurkowski. It was previously presented at the 8th annual Business Research Consortium at Canisius College.
The primary goal of the conference is to provide opportunities for business related academicians and professionals from various business related fields in a global realm to publish their paper in one source.
The Conference will bring together these individuals from all related business and related fields to interact with members inside and outside their own particular disciplines, according to the Conference program.
In addition, Dr. Jurkowski has been named an Associate Editor of the Global Studies Journal, a publication “devoted to mapping and interpreting new trends and patterns in globalization.”
He recently earned the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Dr. Jurkowski teaches graduate courses in accounting and finance in International Business and MBA programs as well as undergraduate business courses at D’Youville. A graduate of Canisius College he received his MBA from Niagara University and his Ph.D. from Columbia Pac University.
