DYC Empty Bowl Project Fights Hunger

Buffalo, New York – February 26, 2013 – Fighting hunger in the Western New York area are the goals of the D'Youville College Empty Bowl Project, which takes place from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 25, 26 and 27 in Joan of Arc Hall (first floor hallway connecting KAB and BFAC).

This is the first year for the project.

Handpainted and handcrafted bowls made by DYC students, faculty and staff will sell for $5, which will entitle purchasers to a bowl of soup on Wednesday Feb 27 at 12:00 p.m. in Madonna Lounge.

Soup may be eaten from the purchased bowl but disposable bowls are also available.

Proceeds from the Empty Bowls Project will benefit Family Promise of WNY, Friends of Night People and Food for All.

The Empty Bowls Project is sponsored by D'Youville's Hunger Initiative, Campus Ministry, Student Association, Sociology Club, and Occupational Therapy faculty and students.
