Six DYC Pharmacy Professors Proctor NYS Board Exam
Buffalo, New York – June 19, 2014 – Earlier this month, six members of D’Youville College's School of Pharmacy faculty served as proctors for the compounding portion of the New York State Pharmacist Board Examination.
“During this important portion of the board examination, candidates must actually make and compound three medications which always include an I.V. medication,” Christopher Jadoch, RPH, JD, assistant professor in the School, who was one of the proctors.
“Other compounded drugs usually include capsules, ointments, creams, oral solutions or syrups.” The examination was held in multiple locations throughout New York State with the local site at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Each pharmacist candidate must pass a national exam on clinical pharmacy practice (NAPLEX) and a state examination on pharmacy law (MPJE). New York is one of two states that require compounding as part of the licensing process.
Other D’Youville faculty who served as proctors included Lloyd Alfonso, PhD; Mainmoona Chinwalla, PhD, RPH; Armany Hassan, PhD; Michelle Lewis, PharmD, MHA, BCACP; and Mudit Mudit, PhD. They all are assistant professors in the School of Pharmacy.
