ESPN Magazine story features DYC research

Youth sports is so big that no one knows quite how big it is.

Buffalo, New York – July 15, 2013 – Research by DYC professor Don Sabo, PhD was featured in a ESPN Magazine story on the growing demographics of youth sports. The story, available on the ESPN Magazine website, cites research that Sabo, a longtime youth-sports researcher, conducted through D'Youville's Center for Research on Physical Activity, Sport & Health (CRPASH) for the Women's Sports Foundation.

The 2008 study found that 75 percent of boys and 69 percent of girls from 8 to 17 took part in organized sports during the previous year. Sabo looked at children in third to 12th grade via a longitudinal survey of about 50,000 students a year.
