DYC Pharmacy Students & Faculty to Take Back Unwanted Drugs
Buffalo, New York – April 25, 2013 – D’Youville School of Pharmacy students and faculty are volunteering to help at 15 drug disposal sites as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
Ten faculty members and 32 students from the School of Pharmacy will be at the sites to collect outdated and unused drugs, medications, syringes and needles for disposal by incineration.
“It’s a drive-up event and any drugs, medications, syringes and needles are accepted,” according to Christopher Jadoch, an assistant professor of pharmacy at D’Youville and the campus organizer for the event. “Each site will be staffed by law enforcement officers, pharmacists, pharmacy interns and students.”
The drop-off sites are the same as last fall and are listed on the Drug Enforcement Administration website: http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/
