Job Details

Minimum Requirements

The candidate should possess a doctoral degree in History, the ability to teach American History and an outside area of competence, a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and a demonstrated record of scholarly publication.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates will have expertise in an outside area of competence, preferably in African, Asian, or Middle East History. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to clearly elaborate on an agenda for future scholarly work. Experience in online instruction and high-impact teaching practices such as learning communities, experiential learning, and/or service learning is desired.

Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate courses in American History and an outside area of competence, contribute to student advisement, coordinate student internships, participate in program and curriculum development and assessment, and engage in scholarly activity and college service. Strong candidates will show potential for external funding and demonstrate a commitment to instructional excellence and program development.
