The Department of Chemistry at D'Youville College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in chemistry to start August 2018. All disciplines are welcome but preference will be given to applicants with a background in physical chemistry.

Job Details

The ideal candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field by hire date. Preference will be given towards candidates with a background in physical chemistry. We are seeking a proficient teacher/scholar who is committed to undergraduate teaching and can develop a vibrant undergraduate research program in their area of expertise. The successful candidate must be able to teach upper level physical chemistry courses and lower-level introductory chemistry classes.

Interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest, a statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, transcripts, a brief summary of your research plans involving undergraduates (no more than four pages) and arrange to have three letters of recommendation emailed to Ms. Lisa Cahill, Assistant to the Chair of Chemistry, (cahilll@dyc.edu) subject line: "Chemistry Position". One reference should be able to address the applicant's teaching ability. Screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
