Join the D'Youville community as we honor those students who have distinguished themselves through exceptional academic achievement.
The 58th annual Honors Convocation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, at 2 PM at Kleinhans Music Hall in the Mary Seaton Room. The Convocation is an annual event designated to showcase students who have distinguished themselves through exceptional academic achievement. Their accomplishments contribute greatly to D’Youville’s momentum and represent the essence of D’Youville: an innovative college engaged with the world and committed to excellence and service to others.
D’Youville’s most prestigious honors will be presented: The D’Youville Medal, St.
Catherine of Alexandria Medal, Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart Medal, Lee Conroy Higgins
Award and the Student Government Association Scholarships.
The Convocation speaker this year is John Grandy, B.S., M.S., RPA-C. Mr. Grandy is
a 2004 graduate of D’Youville College’s Physician Assistant program. Since graduation,
he has been a strong supporter of the PA program and its students. Mr. Grandy currently
resides in Maine and works as a locum at MaineGeneral Health, serving several clinics.
Previously, he was a PA at North Country Urgent Care in Watertown, N.Y. and a civilian
contractor for the U.S. Defense in Fort Drum, N.Y.
Honors Convocation is a highlight of the year, especially for the students, and all
D'Youville faculty and administrators are asked to make every effort to attend. It
is important to have an accurate count of faculty members and administrators attending
the ceremony and marching in academic attire.
Whether you are a full-time or part-time faculty member or administrator, please complete the form below by February 17th. Academic attire is required for participation in the Convocation by all faculty and administration.
Please arrive at Kleinhans Music Hall (lower level) and be dressed in academic attire by 1:30 PM for lineup in the procession.
Following the ceremony you are invited to the reception for the honored students and their families in the Blue Lounge of the College Center. Please encourage your students to attend this special honors ceremony.
