Kim Zittel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, certified in Holistic Psychotherapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors. She is currently the Director of the Personal Counseling Center here at D’Youville College, is co-chair of the Student of Concern Committee, and is a member of the Wellness Committee on campus. Kim began her career at D’Youville College in the Personal Counseling Center in 1994.
Kim’s focus on personal wellness embraces the exploration of self-awareness and the search for balance. She believes in the power of listening to our authentic selves, and values the interconnection of humans with nature and animals. “When we know ourselves, we can truly connect with others”. Kim will use personality assessments to help clients understand themselves better and subsequently, develop and nurture healthier relationships with others. “Significant others” are welcome to come to counseling together. Holistic psychotherapy practices are used to address issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and grief.
