Biography

Dr. Chinwala earned her Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy from CU Shah College of Pharmacy, SNDT University in Mumbai, India. She further earned her MS and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Industrial Pharmacy from St. John’s University, Queens NY.

Dr. Chinwala assumed her position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical, Social and Administrative Sciences at D’Youville College School of Pharmacy in July 2012. Dr.Chinwala is a licensed pharmacist in the State of California and is also a Certified Immunizing Pharmacist. Prior to joining D’Youville, she worked as a community pharmacist at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Blythe, CA. She has also held internship positions at various places such as the R & D Pharmaceutics department at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc. Ridgefield, CT, Lilavati Hospital and Research Center, Mumbai, India.

Dr. Chinwala’s main teaching responsibilities at D’Youville College of Pharmacy include Pharmaceutical Compounding and Pharmaceutical Calculations. Dr. Chinwala has varied research interests and has authored a wide variety of publications.

Dr. Chinwala serves on various School of Pharmacy and college-wide committees. She is a member of several scientific and professional pharmacy organizations such as the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) etc. She is also a member of the Rho Chi Academic Honor Society in Pharmacy, Beta Delta chapter.
