March 22 Covid-19 Student Update

Placeholder Image

Dear Students,

I wanted to reach out to all of you after President Clemo’s recent announcement that D’Youville academics will remain digital for the remainder of the semester and let you know that the Residence Halls will remain open and operational as normal.  The Student Engagement & Housing staff has a safety and support plan in place for you and dining services will continue to remain active – with the added touch of meal delivery to your building in the near future to help you maintain social distance and eliminate the need to travel to the cafeteria.

For those of you who have told me that you are remaining on campus, thank you.  For anybody who would like to return to the Residence Halls or anybody that has been in the Residence Halls but has not yet notified me –I ask that you email me your intent for proper emergency planning and meal preparation purposes.

For anybody who has decided not to return to the Residence Halls, I want to let you know that you are more than welcome to come get any supplies that you may need for your digital classes but want to remind you that complete check-out does not need to happen until May and I would strongly ask that you do not move your items out of the halls until closer to that date.  We would like to avoid any unnecessary travel and groupings in building lobbies and elevators.  Amanda will be in touch later this semester regarding a digital check-out plan and timeline for you to move out and return your keys.

If anybody has specific questions about the COVID-19 situation, I would ask that you reach out to studentcovid19info@dyc.edu for support and guidance.  If anybody has specific questions about housing, please let me know.

I want to take one more opportunity to remind you all that, even though all courses are digital, your campus support network is still here and can assist in anything you may need.  Please reach out to IT, Success, Solutions, Engagement and any other office on campus via email for any and all support.  Take care.
