Announcements about Accessibility and the Learning Center

The Office of Accessibility Resources remains open and ready to help.

Students with disabilities have the right to reasonable accommodations, regardless of whether classes are hosted in person or online.

Accommodations for students currently registered with OAR remain in place.

Extended time on tests, exams, and quizzes is still possible in the online environment. Please continue to schedule your exams online as usual. Your instructors will receive notification of your exam time and accommodations when you do so, and they will be able to extend the time for your online exams.

If you receive testing accommodations and would prefer to continue using the OAR testing space, be sure to note that fact on the exam scheduling form.

You may find you have different accommodation needs as we make the shift to online course delivery. If you encounter disability-related barriers in the weeks ahead, you are encouraged to reach out to us at vecchioi@dyc.edu /716-829-7728 to talk about accommodation possibilities and other ways we can support you.

Information on Tutoring:

The Learning Center is operating as usual. All scheduled peer and professional tutoring sessions will be offered on campus during our usual business hours of 8:30-4:30 M-F. We continue to accept new tutoring requests, and students can submit a tutor request form. Those students who are not able to come to campus can use Tutor.com, our free 24/7 online tutoring service. A link on your course Canvas page will take you to their site.

Writing specialist Mary Applegate continues to provide one-on-one assistance in person and digitally. Students can make appointments on Genbook.
