D'Youville students are encouraged to join the Phonathon team as associates in this student-driven annual program.
Every year, a team of about 30 D'Youville students call alumni of D'Youville College during the fall semester and for several weeks during the spring semester. These enthusiastic students are eager to contact alumni, let them know about current events at the College, and ask for their support of the Loyalty Fund.
If you are interested in becoming a phonathon associate, please fill out the application below. The application deadline is September 15. Training will begin the week of October 10, 2017 and calling will begin on October 16, 2017. Calling times are from 6:00-9:00 PM Monday through Thursday for five weeks, ending on November 16, 2017. Callers are expected to work two of the four days per week throughout the five-week period.
Working on the Phonathon team is also a great opportunity to improve your communication, fundraising, and public relations skills. Phonathon callers are students who love D'Youville and want to help it succeed. In fact many of the student callers have been helped through the phonathon dollars raised in the form of scholarships.
If you're a current D'Youville student who genuinely enjoys speaking with alumni and learning about the school's past, this is the job for you! The Phonathon Caller position requires excellent communication skills, a problem-solving mentality, the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine affinity for D'Youville.
We're looking for students who are able to work at least two shifts per week. All shifts are from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday evenings and possibly a few Sunday afternoon sessions.
- Call alumni of DYC to update demographic information and acquire gifts to the Annual Fund
- Commit to a minimum of 6 hours (2 shifts) per week
- Handle personal information with extreme confidentiality
- Arrive on time and with a positive attitude
