Combat Veterans Tuition Grant

D’Youville College is helping to improve the quality of life for men, women and families that have sacrificed in defense of the United States by providing a tuition grant for combat veterans.  D’Youville College has created a tuition grant program for current and formerly honorably discharged U. S. military personnel who have served in a combat-designated area any time during their military service. The tuition grant will provide up to $7,000 yearly and supplements other financial aid for qualified individuals. Please review the D’Youville Tuition Grant for Combat Veterans brochure for contact and additional information.

I have worked in the medical field for over 14 years now, with the last 7 of which I have worked as a Registered Nurse with an oncology specialty. I've been a part of everything from a National Emergency Medical Technician to a Paramedic, and from an instructor/supervisor to a course coordinator; but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw and did as I had the honor and privilege of taking care of our nation's wounded and sick HEROES.

After my deployments to Germany, Kuwait and Iraq I had came home with amazing, once in a lifetime experiences. I had new appreciations of not only what I want to do with my life, but how I want to live it. I found a gift within myself and a new love of nursing that was exacerbated ten fold while serving in a combat zone.

I made the decision to continue with my education and am now on my way to that life goal, to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, that I set for myself. We all want the best education, but that often comes at a steep price. I am dedicated, and believe in the accomplishment of professional education, but was afraid that the choice of a private education would be a cost that was to too difficult to bear.

It's a priceless feeling to know that someone has recognized the combat veteran's of today and is assisting them to make a difference in their own backyard. Thanks to the COMBAT VETERAN'S TUITION WAIVER, that financial burden is minimal and my lifetime goal is within reach.

Thank you just isn't enough.
