“D'Youville has shaped me into a more outgoing and confident individual.”
I am involved in a lot of extracurricular activities on campus. In the fall I run Cross-Country. Cross-Country is so much fun. I really enjoy it because the Men's and Women's teams do everything together and as a result we are like one big family. My favorite part about cross-country besides the sport itself is how we always get to have a meal together after the meets. It's a great way to bond and to satisfy those post-race hunger pangs. I'll never forget my first meet with the team. It was at Beaver Island on a deathly hot August day. After we finished the race, everyone took off their jerseys and went swimming in the lake. It was so refreshing and tons of fun! Overall I think my participation in athletics has caused me to be a more productive student.
Last year I was the Vice President of the Alpha Lambda chapter of the Lambda Sigma Honor Society. This year I will be serving as a student advisor. Lambda Sigma is a great way to make new friendships while bettering the community through service. Recently I joined D'Youville's Student Association, which is D'Youville's Student Government. I am proud to be representing my class as a junior class senator and serving on the Catalyst committee. The Catalyst is D’Youville’s student newspaper. I highly recommend getting involved on campus. It's a great way to make new friends and build connections. The people who always claim they are bored are those that do not get involved.
I am currently in the dual degree program studying to become a chiropractor. I hope to one day open my own clinic and help those suffering from back pain and problems with the nervous system. So far I am learning some anatomy basics in A&P Lab and how the body works chemically in biochemistry. I am eagerly waiting to learn adjustment techniques and do my clinicals at the D'Youville Chiropractic Center. D'Youville has shaped me into a more outgoing and confident individual. Everyone here is so encouraging and friendly which sets the environment for one to thrive.TOP
