Working at D'Youville College is like having a second family.
I am responsible for entering the undergraduate applications and inquiries that come into the college. As a member of the processing team, I prepare the students' files and request the information we need to complete them.
I enjoy working in the admissions office because we are often the first impression that students and their families have of the college. Very often they are nervous when they come into the office for a visit. If we can put them at ease with a friendly experience, I feel good about it. My own daughter graduated from D'Youville with a master's degree in physical therapy, so I can understand the uncertainty that a parent feels when their first child is going off to college.
Every incoming freshman has a mentor assigned to them. By volunteering to be a mentor, you have the opportunity to bond with a student and be their "go-to-person" for the first semester. It is really a great program and I have formed many lasting friendships over the years.
In my personal life, I like to hike, canoe and paint with watercolors. My husband and I have two daughters and five grandchildren. Working at D'Youville College is like having a second family. The people here are warm and caring, and demonstrate their commitment to everyone around them.
