Academic workshops are designed to help you learn the skills you need to achieve your full potential. They're open to all D'Youville College students.

Presented by the Learning Center at D'Youville College. Preregistration is not required. 

Lasting Memories Workshop

Lasting Memories
“Lasting Memories” is a hands-on workshop designed to help students memorize academic material of all kinds.  It provides no-nonsense approaches to real-world memorization tasks.  Many students report that they have incorporated techniques from this workshop with great success.

Not doing well in a course? Don’t be Afraid to Speak with Your Instructor
In this Interactive workshop, we will discuss and demonstrate the best way to approach your instructor with questions. It will be an informative but fun workshop. We will  role play scenarios of common issues that students are afraid to talk to their instructor about.

This 50 min. interactive workshop will cover the foundations of presenting a strong oral presentation. We will focus on speaking anxieties, preparation, and confident delivery.

Never Wrote a Paper in APA Before? This Workshop was Meant for You
This workshop was created specifically for students who know very little or nothing about APA. You will learn the basic tools needed for citing sources and setting up a References page. We will look at the MOST helpful online sources that will provide you with correct and useful examples.

Navigating the Job Interview
Do you ever wonder how to respond when an employer asks, “Tell me about yourself”? This workshop will provide guidance and techniques to answer this question as well as additional commonly asked interview questions. Find out best practices on how to approach the job interview from preparation all the way to follow up.
