It’s really helpful that your spot is guaranteed in the DPT program as long as you keep a certain GPA.
I believe that being on your own to find a college and pay for your education yourself, like I have, has opened my eyes to the importance of sticking to your goals. No matter what my family situation has surprised me with, I have always been able to focus on getting my education.
I love that at D’Youville the faculty not only knows you, but cares about you reaching your goals. They are always more than willing to help and will do what they can to point you in the right direction.
It is nice to be able to go directly into the PT program and it’s really helpful that your spot is guaranteed as long as you keep a certain GPA. It is very exciting to have some classes held in the gym working with the actual equipment.
I chose to major in ESDPT because after many years of being involved in sports, I wanted to know how to treat the injuries I have seen. I was a member of a club gymnastics team and ran cross country in middle and high school. I was also on my high school indoor and outdoor track teams as well as the gymnastics team. In college, I joined the rowing team.
My favorite part of crew was rowing under the lights of the Peace Bridge as the sun rises. The team practices at West Side Rowing Club which is less than a mile from campus.
