Modern Self-Care for Helping Professionals

The exterior of D'Youville's College Center.

Modern Self-Care for Helping Professionals is presented by Jacob Schwartz on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

This interactive workshop explores the relationship between self-care and the body. Those attending will learn about and participate in a core group of mindfulness skills applicable in the workplace and at home. Geared towards those in helping professions, this workshop focuses on stress-reducing mechanisms already present in the body and how to access their benefits on micro and macro scales. Grounding, achieving positive brain-wave states, and body-presence will be covered along with demonstrations on how to apply these skills in a fast-paced working environment.

Objectives

We will be helping teach professionals how to access the mind-body connection when confronting stress. Each participant will learn how to use mindfulness techniques to help reduce stress and increase satisfaction at work.
