Person Centered Planning

The exterior of D'Youville's Madonna Hall.

Person Centered Planning will be delivered by the Coordinator of Clinical Program Development, Katie Miller LMHC.

Historically, treatment plans were traditionally focused on objectives established by the system directly involved with the client. Person Centered Planning turns the focus away from the system and places it on the individual. Strengths, preferences and an individualized system of support are identified to assist the individual with an emotional or behavioral challenges to achieve functional, meaningful goals and objectives.

Objectives

  • You will discover the differences between traditional treatment planning, and the benefits and individualized process of person centered planning.
  • You will learn how to engage with your client immediately with a person centered approach, and implement this skill into your treatment planning as well.
