Clinical Experience

Graduate Students

Graduate nursing students at D'Youville work with preceptors in area hospitals and private practice facilities to integrate their classroom knowledge with practical clinical learning. Preceptors are chosen by students for their education, experience and area of expertise. Students can also utilize D'Youville's extensive network to find a suitable preceptor for their clinical experience.

Clinical hours vary, based on the graduate nursing program. Preceptors serve as a resource, role model and supervisor, offering feedback to the student to ensure learning objectives and growth as a nursing leader.
