There are just so many ways for students to get involved and I’ve taken advantage of every opportunity possible to me.
I have always had a strong passion for American history and especially American political history. The History program at D’Youville is well rounded and allows me to dedicate time to my favorite topics as well as pushing me to explore other parts of history I haven’t experienced. The professors here are fantastic - they are all so approachable and easily accessible.
The flexibility of the internship program allows limitless possibilities and opportunities. I’ve received academic credit for internships with political campaigns and organizations, including the Erie County Young Democrats (I’m the vice president and founder).
I initially chose D’Youville College because I wanted to play college volleyball and after being contacted by Coach Hutton, I had a great interest. After seeing how much scholarship money I would be receiving, together with the short 15-minute commute time, I was sold on this school.
As a student, I’ve participated in many academic and extra-curricular activities. There are just so many ways for students to get involved in the D’Youville College community, and I’ve taken advantage of every opportunity possible to me. This school is truly what you make of it. You can come to class and leave, or you can stay a while and get involved and make a lot of great friends along the way.
After I graduate I hope to attend law school and eventually run for elected office in my community. I have a strong passion for politics and government and hope to become a significant contributor to my community.
