Choosing English

Why Major in English?

An English major has the opportunity to study and enjoy the classics of literature, to master expository writing, and to learn to write and publish fiction, poetry and drama. Our courses focus variously on a close reading of texts, the study of particular authors and genres, and the study of critical and cultural theories about literature.
