Skills Assessment
The Skills Assessment Inventory is an exam for incoming students that assesses proficiency and skill levels.
All incoming freshmen and undergraduate transfer students must complete the Skills Assessment Inventory (SAI) administered by the Learning Center before registering for classes. You’ll be given a maximum of three hours to complete the SAI.
There are four sections:
- reading (including vocabulary and reading comprehension)
- written essay
- math
- chemistry

Registration
No separate registration is required for the June 26, July 1, July 8, or July 11 SAI, you will sign up to take the test when you register for Orientation.
Your Scores
Your SAI test will be evaluated by specialists in the Learning Center and your scores will be shared with your academic advisor, who will help you select and register for appropriate classes.
