Information Technology

IT studentThe Information Technology program at D’Youville offers a hands-on education in applying computer technology to a business environment. It is designed to meet the needs of industry and prepare students for professional employment and lifelong learning in this dynamic field.

The bachelor of science program comprises a broad spectrum of IT courses, business and management courses, and a core curriculum of liberal arts courses in the humanities and social sciences.

In addition to computing theories, you'll study current practices and developments in multimedia and web publishing, databases, networking, system administration, security, resource management, technology integration, and software.

Students in the BS program can select one of four professional concentrations: (1) multimedia and web publishing, (2) database information systems, (3) networking and communication systems, and (4) systems integration and management.  Offerings in these areas will vary according to changing technology and market demands.

Recognizing the global aspect of the current business environment, we also offer a five-year program leading to both a bachelor's degree in information technology and a master's degree in international business.

A group of business leaders make up the IT advisory board. Their advice and guidance assure that students are learning information relevant to industry today. With headquarters in the new Bauer Family Academic Center, the IT Department offers state-of-the-art lab facilities, modern equipment, and current software.
