I completed an internship with the D'Youville athletic department, as well as with the basketball team as an assistant coach.
Someday I want to run my own athletics department at the high school level and be the head athletic director while coaching basketball
Going into my senior year, I was team captain of the basketball team. On senior night, my final appearance on the D’Youville College center court as a player, I hit 7-10 three pointers, set the school record for threes made in a game and scored my career high for points in a game with 21. All the while I had my number 1 fans in the stands with my number and initials painted on their chests cheering me on. What an unforgettable memory I will always cherish.
I completed an internship with the D’Youville athletic department, as well as with the basketball team as an assistant coach. It helped me learn about the daily operations within the athletics department, from scheduling and budgeting to site management and field supervision, to dealing one-on-one with coaches, personnel and student athletes.
Studying ESS/MGT at D’Youville, you pick up on the vibe and energy from the professors, whether they are teaching you athletic training, sports management, or sociology of sports, and even principles of management. The amount of enthusiasm and expertise from faculty members keeps me into every class and looking forward to learning more.
