Accreditation Information
D'Youville College's master degree programs in Adolescence Education, Childhood Education, and Special Education are accredited by Regents Accreditation of Teacher Education (RATE), New York State Education Department, 89 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12234, phone: (518) 474-1914, (specialized accrediting body for teacher education programs in New York State).
For Canadians: After you complete your graduate teacher education or post-baccalaureate teacher certification program, D’Youville College recommends to the appropriate body that you have met all requirements and are eligible to apply for the teaching certificate. The decision to issue a teaching certificate is made by the New York State Education Department or the Ontario College of Teachers.
The Ontario certification program is designed for Canadian citizens residing in Ontario who wish to teach in Ontario. Students who are not citizens of Canada or those who wish to teach in a province other than Ontario may not fulfill the necessary requirements. It is your responsibility to determine whether our program will prepare you for your goals.
