Dietetics Supervised Practice

Our coordinated program (CP) in dietetics is accredited by the American Dietetic Association. The CP begins at the end of the junior year and continues through the senior year and the graduate (5th) year. The CP was developed to prepare dietitians to meet the challenges of the changing field of dietetics.

Students accepted as dietetics majors are guaranteed placement in the CP, providing academic standards are maintained. Following graduation, students are eligible to take the dietetic registration examination, which provides the registered dietitian (RD) credential.

The CP combines classroom learning, experimental research, and a variety of supervised practice experiences including clinical dietetics, food service management, and community nutrition.

Supervised Practice Facilities

D’Youville College is affiliated with more than 35 supervised practice sites including teaching hospitals, community hospitals, long term care facilities, restaurants, schools, corporate organizations, and community agencies. All are within driving distance of the college.
