Program Director
Charlotte Baumgart, PhD, RD, CDN — Department Chair
Charlotte Baumgart received her B.S. in Dietetics from Cornell University, her M.S. in Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University, and her Ph.D. in Science Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Baumgart came to D'Youville College in 1992 with more than 10 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian. She is a former President of the Western New York Dietetic Association. Dr. Baumgart's research interests include evidence-based clinical practice, childhood obesity, and herbals.

Edward H. Weiss, PhD, RD — Professor
Edward H. Weiss, a Registered Dietitian since 1981, has research and professional practice experiences in dietetics education, senior nutrition services, worksite wellness, medical nutrition education, hunger, and food science. He has served on the Board of Directors for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County and Meals on Wheels of Buffalo & Erie Co. Dr. Weiss has also served on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Nutrition Education and as a reviewer for The Journal of the American Dietetic Assoc., Health Education Research and Wadsworth Publishing Co. He has authored over 35 articles, abstracts, text chapters, and text reviews. His awards have included: Metropolitan Life Foundation Award in Nutrition, 1981; and the New York Dietetic Association's award for Outstanding Dietetic Educator for the Coordinated Program, 2002. Dr. Weiss received his B.S. in Biology from Gettysburg College in 1973, his M.A. in Science Teaching from Duke University and his Ph.D. in Science Education (Nutrition Education) from The Pennsylvania State University.
Megan Whelan, MS, RD — Assistant Professor, Clinical Coordinator
Megan Whelan received her B.S. in Human Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts and her M.S. in Nutrition from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed a Dietetic Internship at the University of Rhode Island. Ms. Whelan has experience as a clinical dietitian, critical care dietitian (in a level 1 trauma center), and as a clinical nutrition manager. Ms. Whelan joined the clinical faculty in 2005 and was promoted to assistant professor in 2008. Ms. Whelan is active in the Western New York Dietetic Association and is a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Advisory Board at Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.
Linda Mocny, RD, CDN — Clinical Instructor
Linda Mocny received her B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science from State University New York College at Buffalo and is completing her M.S. in Health Service Administration from the D’Youville College. Ms. Mocny has been employed as a Registered Dietitian for over 20 years. She was Food Service Director at a local hospital from 1992- 2008 and was a preceptor for D’Youville dietetic students at that site. Ms. Mocny joined the United States Army Reserves, Army Medical Specialist Corps, Hospital Dietitian in 1976 and retired in 1994 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Ms. Mocny joined the clinical faculty in 2009.
Cheryl Strub, RD, CDN — Clinical Instructor
Cheryl Strub received her B.S. in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Ms. Strub has been employed as a Registered Dietitian since 1989. She has extensive experience in acute and long term care, including cardiac rehabilitation, renal failure, and diabetes education. Ms. Strub joined the clinical faculty in 2005.
Julie Baudo, RD, CDN — Clinical Instructor
Julie Baudo received her B.S. in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Ms. Baudo has been employed as a Registered Dietitian since 1995. She has extensive experience in clinical nutrition, and is currently working to achieve the Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential. Ms. Baudo joined the clinical faculty in 2009.
Georgina Bojczuk, RD — Clinical Instructor
Georgina Bojczuk received her B.S. in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Ms. Baudo has been employed as a Registered Dietitian since 2001. She has extensive experience in pediatric nutrition, primarily in the acute care setting. Ms. Bojczuk joined the clinical faculty in 2008.
Bonnie Cass, RD, CNSD — Clinical Instructor
Bonnie Cass received her B.S. in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. Ms. Cass also has the Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) credential. Ms. Cass is has been a critical care dietitian since 2003, and is currently employed at a level 1 trauma center. Ms. Cass joined the clinical faculty in 2009.
Christina Chelus, MS, RD — Clinical Instructor
Christina Chelus received her B.S. in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and her M.S. in Nutrition from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Ms. Chelus has experience in both research and acute care settings. Ms. Chelus joined the clinical faculty in 2008.
Naheed Ali-Sayeed, MS, RD, CNSD, CDN — Clinical Instructor
Naheed Ali-Sayeed received her B.S. in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and her M.S. in Human Services with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Capella University. Ms. Ali-Sayeed also has the Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) credential. Ms. Ali-Sayeed is currently the clinical nutrition manager at a local hospital and has extensive experience as a clinical dietitian and consultant dietitian. Ms. Ali-Sayeed joined the clinical faculty in 2009.
