Choosing Dietetics

Dietitians are health professionals specializing in food, nutrition, management, education and research. As a dietitian, you'll help prevent and treat illness through healthy eating habits, evaluating clients' diets and suggesting diet modifications. You'll also be qualified to run food service systems for institutions and promote sound eating habits through education and research.

The demand for skilled dietitians is high thanks to heightened nutrition awareness, disease prevention through improved health habits, and an increasing older population. With a BS/MS in dietetics, you can pursue a career in hospitals, schools, public health clinics, HMOs, corporations and private practice.
