The Career Discovery Program helped me get on the right track and open my eyes to what I major I wanted to study.
After transferring to D'Youville, I was placed in the Career Discovery Program, (CDP) for my first semester. At first I was a bit skeptical of being in the program because I knew what major I wanted to pursue. However being in the program reassured me that I wanted to study Health Services Management, then continue onto graduate school for Physical Therapy.
The Career Discovery Program allowed me to get look at all the majors D'Youville has to offer and make sure that the one I chose was really for me. CDP also gave me opportunities to meet faculty from different areas on the campus, not only to benefit me as a student, but also by making connections with them for after my schooling.
Now and throughout undergrad, I have been highly involved with D'Youville. For four years, I have been a part of the Student Association, serving one year as a Senator-At-Large, two years as a Programming Co-Chair and as Secretary this year.
I've also served as a student representative for the D'Youville Alumni Association. For the past two years, I've gone to New Orleans on the Lending A Hand trip through Campus Ministry. Recently, I have become the student representative for the Student Physical Therapy Association.
