The Career Discovery Program allows you to explore multiple academic programs before making a commitment to one major.

Career Discovery Program (CDP)

We'll help you discover what you love.

The Career Discovery Program (CDP) gives students an opportunity to learn more about the academic majors available at D'Youville College.  As a CDP student, you'll get to test drive your ideas before committing to a specific academic program. You'll meet with your academic advisor on a regular basis and receive  one-on-one guidance  about classes, programs, and setting long term goals. You will also  enroll in credit-bearing courses that are designed to help you learn more about your interests, skills, and goals and how they relate to the academic programs you are considering at DYC.

Who can benefit?

The CDP can help ANY student who would like to learn more about the academic options we offer at DYC. It is especially helpful to students who are undecided about their major and to those who require more preparation before applying to a particular program. We also support students who are in the process of transitioning from one major to another.

What does the CDP offer?

Is there a time limit or credit restriction?

Here at D'Youville, we understand that choosing a major can be overwhelming and stressful. Our Career Discovery Program is designed to help you navigate through this process and make the most of your college experience. As a CDP student, you'll have approximately four semesters to choose and gain acceptance into an academic major that best fits you. After that time, you should be accepted into a degree-granting program.  Because of financial restrictions, transfer students who have earned more than 45 credit hours are ineligible for the CDP.
