The Career Discovery Program allows you to explore multiple academic programs before making a commitment to one major.

Career Discovery Program (CDP)

We'll help you discover what you love.

If you're undecided about your major, the Career Discovery Program can help you earn college credit while learning about careers in healthcare, business and education.

How does it work?

As a CDP student, you'll meet with your academic advisor and receive one-on-one guidance about courses, schedules, and academic programs. You will also enroll in credit-bearing courses that are designed to help you recognize your academic strengths and achieve your educational goals.

Is the program right for me?

The CDP can help ANY student, but it's especially helpful if you're undecided or if you require more preparation before applying to a program. We also support students who are in the process of transitioning from one major to another.

What are the benefits?

  • Time to decide and prepare for your academic major or program
  • Personalized one-on-one advisement and registration assistance
  • Credits in courses designed to help you recognize your academic strengths

Is there a time limit or credit restriction?

We understand that choosing a major can often be overwhelming and stressful. As a CDP student, you'll have approximately four semesters to choose and gain acceptance into an academic major that best fits you. After that time, you should be accepted into a degree-granting program.

NOTE: Because of financial restrictions, transfer students who have earned more than 45 credit hours are ineligible for the CDP.
