Enactus (formerly SIFE)

Enabling Progress through Entrepreneurial Action

Open to all majors, Enactus is an international non-profit organization that brings together student, academic and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. Guided by academic advisors and business specialists, the D’Youville College Enactus Team creates and implements sustainable community oriented projects around the globe.

As a member of the D’Youville College Enactus Team you will have the chance to:

  • Travel nationally and internationally for Enactus competitions and volunteer work
  • Sharpen your leadership skills by working on exciting entrepreneurial projects geared at shaping a better more sustainable world
  • Contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in communities near and far
  • Meet fellow students from all over the world and form lasting friendships
  • Perfect your public speaking and time management skills through preparing professional presentations of the team’s projects for the regional and national Enactus competitions
  • Network with business leaders from top multinational companies
  • Have first-hand access to job opportunities at globally recognized corporations

Student Management Association (SMA)

The D'Youville College SMA was developed during the 2011/2012 academic year with the mission of serving the community through volunteer work and encouraging development of students by providing leadership opportunities.

Mission & Goals

  • To bring together and encourage development of all students in the School of Management into knowledgeable and competent professionals by providing opportunities to develop leadership capabilities
  • To provide presentations by successful business leaders within the community
  • To make information in all fields in the School of Management readily available to all students in these programs and to support their pursuits in these areas
  • To provide students with career development and networking opportunities in areas of their interest
  • To serve the community through volunteering and fundraising events
