Message from the Department Chair

Dr. Susan KowalewskiWelcome to the Business Department website at D’Youville College, offering IACBE (International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education) accredited programs. I believe our programs offer a quality education with small classes, accomplished faculty members, and a relevant curriculum for today’s changing business environment.

Our students are involved in the Western New York region completing internships with profit and nonprofit organizations such as Fisher Price Toys, Rich Products, Walgreens, M&T Bank and the U.S. Border Patrol, to name a few . We also offer study abroad programs in Hungary and Crete.

During the 2007-2008 academic year, Business Students attended dinners/presentations hosted by the Buffalo World Trade Association, Mr. Michael Buczkowski (Vice President / General Manager of Bisons Baseball, Inc.) and Mr. Paul Ameis (VanDeMark Chemical Inc.) presented at the Department “Breakfast with Business” sessions, and over 70 alumni, students, and faculty attended the 1st Annual Alumni Reception with Dave White (District Manager-Walgreens) as the featured speaker. This academic year is shaping up to be just as invigorating academically for our students and faculty; with guest speakers, company visits, and professional organization meetings.

The D’Youville SIFE Team (Students in Free Enterprise) had another very successful year providing tax services to the residents surrounding the D’Youville Campus, providing financial literacy programs to teenagers and adults in the community, and a program on “Successful Business Attire”. The Team traveled to Los Angeles, California winning the Regional Competition allowing them to compete at the National Competition. The Team was ranked number one in the U.S. for Sustainability. They then moved on to Chicago where they placed in the top twelve.

I invite you to peruse the faculty and other links to truly appreciate the quality of the educational experience at D’Youville College; as well as learn more about our business programs.
