Accreditation of Individual Programs
It is important to note that not all academic programs and departments have a specialized accreditation. For those programs that have distinct and specialized accreditations, D'Youville College has sought them out and they are listed below.
D'Youville College seeks academic program accreditation from appropriate specialized accreditation agencies. They assure the educational community, students and their families, the general public, and other organizations, that an academic program has met high standards of quality and effectiveness.
In addition, some state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure.
Business and International Business
D'Youville College has received specialized accreditation for all of its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), located in Olathe, Kansas. The business programs in the following degrees are accredited by the IACBE:

D'Youville's Coordinated Program in Dietetics has been granted continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education. This is the American Dietetic Association's accrediting agency for education programs that prepare students for careers as registered dietitians. Our five-year dietetic program (three-year pre-professional and two-year coordinated program) is also approved and registered by the New York State Education Department.
All of D'Youville College's education programs, leading to New York State teacher certification, are accredited by Regents Accreditation of Teacher Education (RATE). This is the specialized accrediting body for teacher education programs in New York State. For Canadians: After you complete your graduate teacher education program, D'Youville College recommends to the appropriate body that you have met all requirements and are eligible to apply for the teaching certificate. The decision to issue a teaching certificate is made by the New York State Education Department and the Ontario College of Teachers.
Ontario certification is for Canadian citizens residing in Ontario who wish to teach in Ontario. If you are not a Canadian citizen or if you wish to teach in a province other than Ontario, you may not fulfill the necessary requirements. D'Youville's occupational therapy degree program is fully approved and registered by the New York State Education Department. It is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). You must graduate from an ACOTE-accredited program to be eligible to sit for the national certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). D'Youville College's Doctor of Pharmacy program has been granted Candidate status by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, 20 North Clark Street, Suite 2500, Chicago, IL 60602-5109, (312) 664-3575; FAX (312) 664-4652, website: www.acpe-accredit.org. Graduates of a class designated as having candidate status have the same rights and privileges of those graduates from a fully accredited program, generally including eligibility for licensure.
The program is registered by the New York State Department of Education.
The Doctor of Pharmacy program of the D'Youville College School of Pharmacy was awarded Candidate accreditation status during the June 22-26, 2011, meeting of the ACPE Board of Directors based upon an on-site evaluation conducted March 29-31, 2011, and discussion with College and School officials. An on-site evaluation will be scheduled during academic year 2012-2013 for purposes of gathering additional information to be considered in the Board's consideration of continued Candidate accreditation status. Based upon this evaluation, should the Board feel that Candidate accreditation status cannot be continued the School could respond to the Board's concerns and reapply prior to the graduation of the first class. If Candidate accreditation status is continued and the program continues to develop as planned, Full accreditation status of the Doctor of Pharmacy program would be considered by the Board following the graduation of students from the program.

D'Youville College's Physician Assistant department is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). It accredits programs nationally through a peer review process that includes documentation and periodic site visit evaluation.
